The North American Thoroughbred Society (NATBS), Inc. works to recognize and promote Thoroughbred sport horses. By creating community, fostering recreational activities, and developing educational resources, NATBS recognizes and rewards members and their Jockey Club-recognized Thoroughbreds.
NATBS award programs reward Thoroughbreds for participation and achievement across English and Western equine disciplines –– from pleasure and trail riding, to competing at regional and local levels, to recognition under the auspices of national sport horse organizations such as Cadora, Equine Canada, Federacion Ecuestre De Puerto Rico, Fédération Equestre Internationale, United States Dressage Federation, national barrel racing associations, United States Eventing Association, and the United States Equestrian Federation.
NATBS accepts Thoroughbreds as defined by the Jockey Club and the International Stud Book Committee. Some have raced, some were bred to race but never started, while others were specifically bred for sports away from the track. |
